The Maidaid Glasswasher Company (Maidaid-Halcyon), based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, is a leading supplier of high quality catering equipment to the leisure and hospitality industry throughout the UK. The company sells its products through a nationwide distributor network. Distributors also provide advice and support to end users in all the associated technologies of water treatment, chemical choice, service and maintenance.
Maidaid–Halcyon did not have a web presence and all communication with their distributor network was taking place either directly through their sales team or by direct mail. The sales team indicated that there was a growing demand from distributors to have access to product information via a website.
In addition it was also clear that competitor companies were actively marketing their products via the internet..
Alan Palmer, Sales and Marketing Director for Maidaid-Halcyon worked closely with Bob Young at IRUN Business Intelligence to develop a website that would provide the company’s distributors with a comprehensive range of online services and support.
Distributors can now view the full product range on the website as well as download product brochures, technical data and high quality images for use on customer quotations. Information is also available on the website on a range of support services including in-house training seminars and distributors can even book on line.
The website also provides distributors with the latest information on new product launches and there is even a secure, password protected area on the website for the exclusive use of distributors. Distributors are able to make enquiries from the website and this is helping to build and develop an increasingly sophisticated database for the company.
IRUN-Banbury also provided on site training for Maidaid-Halcyon sales personnel to help them get the best out of the information collected via the website.
The website has now provided an additional channel to market for Maidaid-Halcyon and is being used increasingly to enhance and improve communication with the distributor network.
It is becoming an increasingly important business resource for distributors providing up to date information on both new and existing products as well as details of training and other support services
It has also provided additional collateral for the sales team in discussions with distributors. IRUN Business Intelligence continues to work closely with Maidaid-Halcyon in maintaining and updating the website.
