Case study – Go-Kart Party Gloucestershire

Go-Kart Party Gloucestershire is a family-run business providing the latest innovation in 'bought in' entertainment for children aged 4-10.

Problem

Aidan and Mel McLoughlin of Go-Kart Party Gloucestershire started their children’s entertainment business in the winter of 2005 and originally promoted the company via newspapers, magazines directed at parents and leisure centres.

They decided they needed a website to take advantage of the increasing use of the internet, as they felt that this will become the preferred way of doing business in the future. Unfortunately, they had a bad experience with a previous website provider and therefore contacted IRUN after receiving one of its pamphlets through their door.

Solution

After some initial training and technical advice, Aidan and Mel have built a professional website themselves and will be in charge of its ongoing maintenance, thereby giving them total control.

To improve their knowledge of website-related sales issues, they also attended IRUN’s series of free one-hour online workshops. Workshop topics include website copywriting, website design, website marketing, search engine optimisation, pay-per-click campaigns and website analytics.

Aidan and Mel are working hard on their search engine optimisation to ensure that it is listed by the major search engines and are confident that it will become an extremely important part of their sales generation in the future.

Update - May 2008

Aidan and Mel have reported they are on page 1 of Google for all the search terms they want - usually at the top! Also, their IRUN site is out performing another site (non-IRUN) which has paid a specialist to do a Google Adword campaign. This was just organic SEO, all done as per the online workshops.
